Quick Answer: FN ICT Killzones & Pivot is a free TradingView indicator that maps the time element of ICT-style trading — the five key daily sessions ("killzones"), the high/low pivot each session creates, session opening prices, and Day/Week/Month reference levels like PDH/PDL. These are the liquidity areas where large order flow tends to react, laid out automatically so you don't have to mark them by hand on every chart.
If you've read our guide on liquidity and stop hunts, you already know why price so often reacts around a prior session's high or low. This indicator is the tool version of that concept — it draws those levels for you, in real time, across every session of the day.
What Is FN ICT Killzones & Pivot?#
FN ICT Killzones & Pivot is an ICT-style toolkit built entirely around timing rather than price patterns. Instead of identifying structure or order flow, it answers a different question: when during the trading day is price most likely to make its real move, and where are the reference levels large players tend to react around. It's free to use on any TradingView chart — no FN Trading Lab account or rebate registration required.
Killzones: The Five Key Sessions#
The indicator plots five preset sessions in New York time, each independently togglable with adjustable hours, name, and color:
- Asia — 20:00–00:00
- London — 02:00–05:00
- NY AM — 09:30–11:00
- NY Lunch — 12:00–13:00
- NY PM — 13:30–16:00
Each session is drawn as a box spanning that session's full price range, with a customizable label and transparency — so you can see at a glance which session produced the current range you're trading inside.
Killzone Pivots#
For every killzone, the indicator plots the session's high and low as reference lines, with an optional midpoint. Each level is labeled (AS.H, LO.L, NYAM.H, and so on), renameable, with optional price display positioned on the chart's right edge. You can choose whether a level keeps extending after price touches it or stops there, and apply that extension logic to just the most recent session or to all sessions at once. Alerts are available for when price breaks a killzone's high or low.
Killzone Range#
A built-in statistics table shows each session's range (high minus low), plus the average range of the last N sessions — a quick way to see which session is running hotter or quieter than usual before you decide where to focus.
Day, Week, and Month Reference Levels#
Beyond the intraday killzones, the indicator plots Daily, Weekly, and Monthly session-open price lines, along with previous-period high/low levels — PDH/PDL, PWH/PWL, PMH/PML — the classic liquidity reference points ICT-style traders watch for sweeps and reactions. Divider lines mark the start of each new day/week/month, day-of-week labels are available (with an option to hide weekends), and alerts fire when price crosses any of the selected highs or lows.
Custom Session-Open Levels and Time Markers#
Beyond the standard Day/Week/Month opens, you get eight user-defined times (default suggestions include a True Day Open at 00:00, plus 06:00, 10:00, and 14:00), each plotting a renameable, recolorable horizontal line at that time's opening price. Four additional vertical lines let you mark any other time of day you personally track.
General Settings#
- Timezone — defaults to America/New_York per ICT convention, changeable to any GMT offset.
- Session count limit — keeps only the last N sessions per object type, so the chart stays light and readable.
- Timeframe limit — automatically hides everything above a configurable chart timeframe (default M30 and above), so higher-timeframe charts don't get cluttered with intraday levels.
- Extension cutoff time — lets pivot and session-open lines stop extending at a fixed hour instead of running indefinitely.
What Makes This Original#
Killzones, PDH/PDL, and session opens are standard ICT building blocks on their own — the differentiator here is the configuration depth layered on top: five independently configurable killzones with per-session pivot extension logic (extend-until-touched vs. continue-after-touch, applied per-session or globally), eight custom session-open anchors beyond the standard Day/Week/Month opens, a range-statistics table comparing each session against its own N-session average, and automatic timeframe-based hiding to keep multi-timeframe charts clean.
Usage Tips#
Start with the London and NY AM killzones enabled — these are typically the two most volatile sessions. Watch how price reacts when it sweeps through a prior session's high or low; that's often where liquidity gets taken before the market moves in its real direction. If you want to check whether that sweep actually produces a structure change rather than just a wick, pair this with FN Swing Pro, which plots the swing structure this indicator's timing context sits on top of.
