Review GRID v1.0.1: Bot Grid Trading ATR Cho XAUUSD Trên MT5

Table of Contents
Quick Answer: GRID v1.0.1 is an MT5 expert advisor that runs an active grid trading strategy on a price zone you choose, placing a ladder of Limit and Stop orders that auto-refill every 5 seconds as each level takes profit. If price breaks too far out of that zone, it switches into a DCA recovery mode with trailing take-profit on the basket's average price. It's tagged "Low" risk on FN Trading Lab's site, but grid + DCA is still an order-stacking strategy — a strong breakout with an extended DCA chain can still produce deep drawdown, so the label shouldn't be read as "hands-off safe."

What Is GRID v1.0.1?#

GRID v1.0.1 is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that runs grid trading — as opposed to the DCA/Martingale-only approach of CCBSN v3.0.5. You define a price zone (a ceiling and a floor), and the bot spreads a ladder of Buy/Sell Limit and Stop orders across it, each with its own fixed take-profit, harvesting small profits from price oscillation inside the range. It's currently on version 1.0.1, released 27 May 2026.

How the Grid Engine Works#

Once you pick a direction (TREND_BUY or TREND_SELL) and mark the zone, GRID places Buy Limits below current price and Buy Stops above it (or the mirror image for a sell grid). Every 5 seconds, the bot scans the grid and refills any level that's closed at profit, up to a configurable number of refills per cycle — so the ladder keeps working as long as price keeps oscillating inside your chosen range.

A built-in Trend AI module scores trend direction using a simple heuristic across four timeframes (M30, H1, H4, D1) and suggests which way to bias the grid. It's explicitly not a neural network or machine-learning model — FN Trading Lab describes it as a basic heuristic — and it only suggests a direction; it does not automatically switch the bot's mode for you.

DCA Recovery Mode#

If price moves too far against the grid, GRID doesn't just keep adding grid levels — it switches into a separate DCA recovery mode. Pending Stop orders and remaining Limit take-profits are cleared, and the bot opens a market order sized off the deepest existing lot times a multiplier, adding further as price extends beyond a spacing threshold, up to a capped number of additions. Recovery then targets a basket-wide take-profit based on the volume-weighted average entry price, with trailing distance kicking in once the basket clears a minimum profit threshold.

This is the mechanism to understand before running GRID live: a multiplier of 1.5 across 5 additions compounds to roughly 19.8x the original lot size by the fifth DCA step. That's the same core capital-risk profile as any Martingale-style averaging system, wrapped inside a grid strategy.

Risk & Capital Protection#

GRID ships with a three-layer account protection system, plus several secondary controls:

  • Daily profit target — locks in gains and halts trading once daily equity gain hits a set percentage (default +5%).
  • Daily loss limit — halts and closes everything once daily equity loss hits a set percentage (default −5%).
  • Equity stop — a longer-horizon circuit breaker that halts and closes all positions if equity drops a set percentage from when the EA was attached (default −8%).
  • DCA cap — limits the maximum number of DCA additions, with automatic lot scale-down if margin runs low.
  • Spread filter — skips new orders when spread exceeds a configurable threshold, to avoid bad fills during news spikes.
  • ATR dynamic spacing — grid spacing and take-profit distance scale with recent volatility (ATR) instead of staying fixed.

Important: all three of the main protection layers — daily target, daily loss limit, and equity stop — ship switched off by default. They have to be manually enabled before running the bot on a real account; leaving them off means none of that downside protection is actually active.

GRID is built around XAUUSD (Gold), run on M5 or M15 — the bot's listed supported symbols also include BTCUSD, EURUSD, and JPYUSD, but FN Trading Lab notes it has only actually been tested on gold. Minimum recommended capital is $500, with $5,000+ described as the more realistic starting point for the default settings profile.

Setup Profiles#

FN Trading Lab publishes four preset risk profiles rather than a single "correct" configuration:

  • Conservative — smaller lot sizing, tighter DCA multiplier, targets roughly 20–40% monthly, aimed at accounts under $5,000.
  • Default — the bot's out-of-the-box settings, aimed at $5,000–$20,000 accounts.
  • Aggressive — larger lot sizing and a wider DCA multiplier, targeting roughly 60–100% monthly — FN Trading Lab's own notes describe this profile as carrying meaningfully higher blow-up risk, only for traders who accept the possibility of losing an account outright once or twice a year.
  • Small account (under $1,000) — reduced lot sizing and tighter daily targets for thinner capital bases.

Operating Recommendations#

  • Turn the bot off on weekends and ahead of major news releases (NFP, FOMC, CPI) — grid and DCA baskets are both exposed to gap and volatility risk around these events.
  • Tighten SL/TP on XAUUSD and BTCUSD specifically, given how large their intraday swings can get.
  • Enable the equity stop and daily loss limit before going live — since they're off by default, this is a manual step traders need to remember, not something the bot enforces automatically.

Who Should (and Shouldn't) Use GRID v1.0.1#

Suited for: traders who already understand grid trading and DCA mechanics, have at least $500 (ideally $5,000+) allocated to it specifically, and are willing to actively monitor the price zone and adjust the ceiling/floor if the market breaks out of range.

Not suited for: anyone looking for a fully passive "attach and forget" bot, traders working with very thin capital, or anyone unwilling to manually enable the equity/daily-loss protections before running it on a live account.

Risk Warning#

Grid trading combined with DCA recovery is still, at its core, a strategy that adds to positions when the market moves against it. If price breaks out strongly from the chosen zone and the DCA chain extends, the account can face deep drawdown or a full loss of capital — this risk is highest on the "Aggressive" profile. The bot ships with its main protection layers switched off, so the responsibility for enabling them and choosing a sensible price zone sits with the trader. Past backtest or demo performance does not guarantee future live results. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose. This is not investment advice.

How to Get Access#

GRID v1.0.1 sits behind FN Trading Lab's standard bot-access flow, not a simple download: open and verify a trading account with one of FN Trading Lab's supported brokers, complete KYC and the broker's minimum deposit, then submit your account on the bot's detail page for review. Once approved, the current version is available to download directly from there.
