Major Pairs
Also known as: Majors, G7 Pairs
The seven major currency pairs are EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF, USDCAD, AUDUSD, and NZDUSD. Together they account for the bulk of daily spot forex turnover, offer the tightest spreads, deepest liquidity, and most consistent behavior across sessions.
Majors are the default starting point for new traders — lower trading cost, more predictable technicals, and abundant analysis coverage. Cross-pairs (no USD) and exotics involve wider spreads and thinner liquidity.
