The ask (or offer) is the other side of a two-sided quote: the lowest price a seller is currently willing to accept, and the price at which you can buy. The ask is always higher than the bid. In a EURUSD quote of 1.0850 / 1.0851, the ask is 1.0851. Buying 1 lot at market fills at the ask.
